I love Pike’s Place! This reminds me of a friend of mine. She used to play on the street corners in Hawaii.
I remember you writing about her, Debra. This girl was so sweet and innocent, unlike a lot of the hustling street performers. She had a little sign in her violin case saying her name was Vienna and she was 14 years old. Her mother was standing nearby chaperoning… just being invisible, but watching over her child. I thought it was very touching.
Super cool. 14 is such a young age to be working the corners. Of course, if her mom is there… What an experience for her. She may grow up and write a book about it some day. 😉
